We the [creative] people -- iDMA in Philadelphia – 11/8 – 11/10.

Get ready for me to keep plugging the annual conference of the International Digital Media and Arts Association (http://www.idmaa.org/). Especially since I am typing this on the plane back from Philadelphia. Yes, the conference is going to have a host of cool people working on a range of very creative projects. Every iDMAa conference has that. But now we have the additional attraction of a city that combines history and technology in some very funky ways. For instance, I went to the Constitution Center (http://www.constitutioncenter.org/) today – in fact, it was Constitution day across the country today celebrating the birthday of the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution Center opened in 2003 and it is amazing. First there is the most effective multimedia presentation I have ever witnessed combining a live human (yeah, ain’t that weird) with computer generated graphics and fantastic audio effects. Then there are dozens of interactive exhibitions that use incredible technology in wild ways. And the whole thing ends in a room with life-size bronze statues of the signers of the Constitution – you stroll among them touching them – and I even saw people talking to them.
The conference hotel for iDMAa is right next door to the Constitution Center and everyone attending the conference will get a free ticket to all parts of this state-of-the-art facility.
