This DBB (Tu, 3/25) QAlias: Go Google Yourself – Mike McGraw

Believe it or not, there is another Scott Shamp in the world. Never met him but google tells me about him everytime I search myself (and don’t act like I am the only person googling myself, we all do it, right?). Wouldn’t it be cool if I could guarantee that whenever anyone searched for me on any search engine they would find the real me? Call it brand management. QAlias (http://www.qalias.com/) is a company created to manage that very problem. Using its service, I can make sure that when someone searches for me they find what I want them to find. But it costs a little. Come find out if it is worth it when Mike McGraw of QAlias talks at our next Digital Brown Bag (Tu, 3/25, 12:30P, NMI, 412 Journalism). And you can google Mike McGraw to see how it works.

Sure as heck does not work for him (searching on his name), so why would I want to pony up $9.95 a month for a service like this?. It is very easy to do this yourself without paying someone else.

The even better tool for people is the free one called common sense. Students need to be aware of what they are posting online and how it can impact them later. For example, Matthew Stafford has learned his lesson as he does not even have a FaceBook or MySpace account.

With all due respect to Christopher, I not sure why he was unable locate me upon his internet search. I do know however, it is not easy to duplicate the QAlias services yourself. QAlias offers many benefits included within their services. QAlias is a great tool for creating your personal brand. Let me be clear, QAlias is not in competition with FaceBook or MySpace, which are social sites. QAlias would serve as a complement to your social sites. QAlias provides you with Page One presence with all major search engines. In today’s highly competitive workplace, you need every tool you can obtain to differentiate yourself. QAlias is a valuable tool which helps to gives you a completive edge. The $9.95 monthly subscription is a true bargain. There are no contracts or agreements involved with the QAlias subscription. Personally allow be to say QAlias has positively impacted by bottom line while providing me Top Billing on the internet. By being easily found on Page One, clients are able to validate as well as contact me, thus increasing my business opportunities. Christopher, please try again. Just Google Me! Mike McGraw. FYI, look for the Hollywood release of the new movie titled "Google Me" Good Luck! If you have any questions or if i can be of help, please email me at Mike@Tneve.com.

Thanks,

Mike McGraw
