AIDS PPSA Website and Podcasts
All the pieces are coming together for the AIDS Personal Public Service Announcement Project on 11/7 in Philadelphia. Over 50 people from five universities and three AIDS organizations will come together to explore how mobile media can be used to fight AIDS. And Verizon is providing the resources (equipment and money) to make it all happen. In one day, mobile student teams are going to work with professional producers via wireless technology to produce one-minute videos encouraging young people to be tested for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Crazy, right! This project will be many things, but boring isn’t on the list.
For me, this project is so exciting because we are using our technology to make a difference in people’s lives. To find out more about the project, you can check out the website (http://www.nmi.uga.edu/aids_ppsa/). And listen to the podcasts you will find there – if you can get past my crappy radio voice, there are some very thought-provoking ideas there.
